Robert E. Hubbard Jr. (Bob)

Bob graduated from Provine High School, Jackson, MS in 1958. He quickly established his future in retail, working at Morgan & Lindsey in Mart 51 for a number of years. He soon became a highly respected manager at McRae’s in men’s suits.

In his mid-thirties he gave his life to the Lord and served Him at Brandon Assembly of God for many years. He began a cassette ministry by making copies of sermons and sending them to shut-ins and neighbors. He also served as leader/teacher for the youth.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Dot) Hubbard; parents Robert E. Hubbard Sr. and Nell Boyd Hubbard; sister Mary Sprayberry; son David Rowell; and daughter Larissa Kelly.

He is survived by son Steven Rowell (Sara); brother Larry Hubbard (Sandra); sister Sue Hubbard Griffith; granddaughters Marissa Margues (Rodney), Brianna Nagel (Michael); grandsons Scott Rowell, Tristan Rowell; stepdaughter Rita Torres; and great grands Maci, Connor, Blake, Jordan and another due in June.

While we are deeply saddened by his passing, we know that “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. He is with his Savior and reunited with his wife and family who have gone before him, and he is at peace.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Lakewood Memorial Park South, 430 McClure Rd, Jackson, MS 39212 at 11:00 AM.
