Dr. Robert E. King, Sr., of Raymond, Mississippi, passed away on June 30, 2025, at home in Raymond.
He was born on October 31, 1931, in Cliftonville, Mississippi, to James R. King and Edna J. King. Living on a dairy farm he was the youngest of twelve children.
Dr. King chose a career in veterinary medicine graduating at Auburn University in 1956 and served in the field for 38 years. He began his private practice in Louisville, Mississippi in 1958 where he worked for the first 14 years of his career. He then continued his service with the state of Mississippi for the remainder of his professional life.
He is survived by his spouse and children: Felix H. King of Raymond, MS (spouse); Mary E. Lyons of Flowood, MS (daughter); Robert E. King, Jr. of Long Beach, MS, and Norman H. King of Raymond, MS (sons).
Dr. King was also blessed with six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Lakewood Memorial Park, located at 6000 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS 39209.
