

Mr. Samuel “Sam” Kimbrell, 78 - a longtime resident of Clinton, MS died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at St. Dominic’s Hospital. Mr. Kimbrell was born in Jackson, MS the youngest son of George Hillard Kimbrell, Sr. and Hazel Cecile James Kimbrell.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 19 at 3 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Kimbrell graduated from Central High School. He worked as a salesman for Cowboy Maloney’s for over 35 years. Mr. Kimbrell was a faithful member of Parkway Baptist Church for 40 years. He loved to golf, fish, and play with his pets Bonnie, Abby, and Buffy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George Hillard Kimbrell, Jr., and niece, Christy Kimbrell Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Rimmer Kimbrell; one son, Samuel Andrew “Andy” Kimbrell and his wife Penelope Amelie “Penny” Kimbrell; three precious grandchildren who were the sunshine in his life: Samuel Andrew “Drew” Kimbrell, Jr., Katherine Jane “Katie” Kimbrell, and Kelly Ann Kimbrell. He is also survived by one brother, James Lawrence Kimbrell and wife Duke; six nieces and nephews: William James Kimbrell, Suzanne Marie Kimbrell Clifford, Thomas O’Ferrall Kimbrell, James Lawrence Kimbrell II, Amanda Elizabeth Kimbrell McCown, and James Hilton “Jimmy” Kimbrell; and numerous other relatives and friends.
