Sarah (Sally) Louise Shoemaker Jolly, 73, passed away peacefully at home on April 15th, 2022, or Good Friday, after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. The memorial service will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson, Mississippi, on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 3:00pm, with the memorial service beginning at 3:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Leavell Woods United Methodist Church.
Sally was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on November 12, 1948, and lived her childhood years in Jackson, Mississippi. She graduated from Provine High School in 1966. She was employed by Allstate Insurance and Standard Life Insurance for a period of time. Sally and her husband, Tommy Jolly, were married in 1975, and remained married for 46 years. She was a long-time member of Leavell Woods United Methodist Church. Always kind and caring, Sally loved to play board games, card games, and have long conversations. Most of all, she loved her family, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Sally is survived by her husband, Tommy Jolly and their two sons, Steven (Sheril) Jolly and Brian (Melinda) Jolly. She was a loving grandmother to her three grandchildren: Isabella, Brianna, and Emma Jolly. She is also survived by her brother and sister: Donald Shoemaker (Beth), and Eileen Shoemaker McKie. She had numerous nieces and nephews that adored her. Sally is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Isabel Shoemaker, and her brother, Robert Shoemaker.
