

Nellie Sue Beard, 79, of Brandon, MS, entered her heavenly home Friday, August 18, 2023. She had just celebrated her 79th birthday with her family and was able to worship the Lord to hymns, which she dearly loved. Her Celebration of Life will be held at Lakewood Memorial in Jackson, MS on August 22, 2023. The service will be officiated by Keith Grubbs, Pastor of Park Place Baptist Church in Brandon, MS, where she was a member. The family would like to invite you to Lakewood for visitation services at 9:00 am and the Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00 am. Interment service will follow at the outdoor pavilion.

Wendy Cain Reed and husband, Raymond Reed
Wesley Chaney and wife, Rebecca Chaney
Grandchildren: Chris, Lexie, Brea, Audrey, Brooke, Harper, and Wren
Great Grandchildren: Summer, Lilly, Eli, Colton, Kylie, Evelyn, Emma, and Eleanor
Great-Great Grandchildren: Castor, Callum, and Skyler
Sister: Paula Hughes and Jeana Creech
Sue Beard is preceded in death by her loving husband, Maurice Beard; her parents, Sam and Estelle Barnett; brother, John Barnett; sister, Nancy Pate; and grandchild, Brandy Cain.
Sue Beard was born on August 10, 1944 in Eldorado, AR. She grew up in Arkansas and Louisiana. She attended and graduated from Haughton High School in 1962. Sue enjoyed going to rodeos, baseball games, and bluegrass festivals. Her hobbies were sewing, monogramming, and embroidery, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Sue will be greatly missed by her friends, family, and all who knew and loved her.
