Mrs. Ammons was born on September 19, 1937 to the late Reverend John Dewitt and Mildred Allen Comfort.
Loving Mother, caring Nan, she gave of herself willingly, always caring for others. She was always a sweet spirit, and was an inspiration to those around her. She loved music and singing, and the joy of the Lord was her strength. She was strong in her faith.
Sylvia loved the outdoors. Her passion was gardening, always tending to the flowers and flower beds. She knew each plant by name, and knew the care needed by each plant for each season. She loved the forest, and cherished the opportunity to walk a forest path among the pine trees. She fed the birds daily, and made sure there was fresh water for any being that happened by.
Sylvia cherished her grandchildren. Reading and puzzles kept her occupied in her spare time. She lovingly prepared and served good, clean food. She gave God the glory for everything in her life.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her son, Ted Ammons, and her parents.
Mrs. Ammons is survived by her son, John “David” Ammons (Tammy); grandchildren, Heather Marie Spencer (Daniel) and Christopher David Ammons: brother, Don Comfort (Barbara); sister, Sidney Couey and Sue Mason (Clifton); and her first great grandchild is due in September.
