On November 9, 2014, at the age of 61, Thomas Gary Foley finished the race set before him and was gathered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Tom was born on December 15, 1952 in Wichita Falls, TX to Jack and Elizabeth Foley. He served in the Army for 3 years, served at Friends of Alcoholics for 9 years, and his final commission was a 15 month battle with brain cancer.
His life was characterized by forgiveness, sacrifice, and genuine concern for others. Although he enjoyed many hobbies, he spent most of his time and energy on behalf of his family and friends.
Because his belief in The Lord was so evident, his surviving son, Caleb T Foley, and daughter, Shauna Foley Bruss, are greatly comforted knowing their separation from him by his death to be only momentary and of great gain to him. Tom is also remembered by his granddaughter, Piper Foley, his brother, Don Foley, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson. Tom’s funeral will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2:00pm at Grace Bible Church in Ridgeland with a visitation one hour prior to service
In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Friends of Alcoholics or the RC Barth Foundation.
