Wayne was born on September 28th, 1937 in Chicago, IL. He was an athlete in school, running track as well as being an All-American kicker in college, and went on to coach several runners privately later in life. He had a long career in state government and retired in 1989. Wayne loved his family and he loved his dogs, which he referred to as his pack.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Tatum and Mollie M. Tatum of Chunky, MS, and his brother John Tatum of Picayune, MS. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Tatum; his children, Tracy Tatum and Scott Tatum; and his grandchildren, Jacob Tatum and Caleb Tatum.
