

Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Stockton Collins, age 80, will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Bobby Miller and Rev. Stanley Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
She died after a short stay in Jackson Madison County General Hospital on Saturday, August 22, 2015 with family surrounding her.
Mrs. Collins was the daughter of the late Mr. Johnny Blake Porter and Mr. Leon Gilliam and Mrs. Elva Porter Gilliam.
She was born October 8, 1934 in Madison County and grew up in Jackson, TN. In 1950, at the young age 16 she was wed to Mr. Horace H. Stockton of Trenton, TN. She followed Mr. Stockton through his career in the Navy for 14 years and returned to Jackson to make their home. She later married Mr. Tony Collins with whom she just celebrated their 32nd anniversary. Over their years together they enjoyed dancing, camping, vacationing, and creating family traditions. She was employed at Rockwell/Porter-Cable for 27 years and retired from the receiving department in 1997. After retirement she became involved in the Porter-Cable Retirement Association and served as secretary/treasurer for many years. She was a member of North Jackson Baptist Church and loved singing in the Senior Adult choir with her harmonizing alto voice. She always looked forward to participating in the special Samaritan Purse, Birth Choice, R.I.F.A., and Back-to-School Backpack ministries.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Richard Lynn Stockton; a sister Dianne Porter Vantreese.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Collins; three sons, Dave Stockton (Linda Gibson) of Bartlett, Joe Stockton (Diane) of Jackson, Tony Stockton (Katy) of Arlington; two daughters, Teresa Stockton Irvine of Medina, Alicia Collins of Jackson; a sister, Sue Scott of Jackson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, John and Kevin Stockton (Kacey) of Jackson, Amanda and Odell Stockton of Arlington, Mairi Stockton of Bartlett, Leslie Irvine Farley (Aaron) of Jonesboro, AR, and Daniel Irvine of Medina; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also had the joy of knowing that her first great-grandchild Ace Aaron Farley would be arriving in September.
Pallbearers are Kevin Stockton, Odell Stockton, Daniel Irvine, Chris Doyle, Chris Adams, and Aaron Farley. Honorary Pallbearer will be John Stockton.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The family would like to offer a special thanks to all of the staff at the Dialysis Clinic Incorporated. Memorial contributions can be directed to Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center.
