Betty Raines Henderson

Funeral services for Mrs. Henderson will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 2 p.m., in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, with Bro. Bob Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Mrs. Henderson was born on February 23, 1926 in Malesus, TN to the late Nobel and Bessie Lillard Raines. She attended Malesus High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Madison Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Glynn Henderson; a grandson, Mark Rushing; two brothers, J.T. Raines and Hugh Raines; and a sister, Virginia Raines Fesmire.

She is survived by a daughter, Claudia Rushing (Jerry) of Jackson, TN; a brother, Bill Raines of Humboldt, TN; two sisters, Marinel Cavender of Birmingham, AL and Rose Alford of Richmond, KY; a granddaughter, Carol Sweat (Scott) of Jackson, TN; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Cameron Sweat.

The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Irene Gray and Sandra Pentegrass, for their kindness and compassion.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
