

Funeral services for Joy Collins King, age 69 of Denmark, will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church near Mercer with Bro. Joe McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Springs Cemetery.
Joy passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 20, 1948 in Madison County, TN to the late Floyd and Rosa Landers Collins. She was an active member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. She worked for JMCSS for 31 years as a bus driver. Joy loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and going to the river. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and enjoyed watching her grandkids play ball.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Collins Caudle.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Larry King of Denmark; three daughters, Julie New (Lynn) of Denmark, Ginger Collins (Randy) of Jackson, and Jodi King of Denmark; five grandchildren, Chase New, Luke Collins, Andrew New, Jake Collins, and Olivia King; and three siblings, Judy Jordan, Jerry Collins, and Jack Collins.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel and again on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 12 until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association in Joy’s memory.
