

Donald Dale Wiesinger was born on June 15th, 1945, to parents Oscar and Marvine Wiesinger in Lemmon, South Dakota. He graduated from Lemmon High School in 1963. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served for 4 years, including 2 tours of duty in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967 on board the USS Worden. While in the Navy, Don was a radarman. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd class. For his time in service, he was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. After he was discharged from the Navy, he returned to the family ranch outside of Lemmon to work with his father. In 1972, he moved to Southern California and began working as a carpenter, where he remained for more than 45 years until his retirement. In 2020, Don moved to Maury City, Tennessee to be near his kids, several grandchildren, and a great grandson. Don was a man of many talents. His hobbies included playing rhythm guitar and bass guitar, as well as several other instruments. He enjoyed repairing and improving various stringed instruments in his spare time. He passed away on November 29, 2022, while surrounded by his loving family in his home.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons-in-law: Manny Thompson and John “Tripp” Roy III.
He is survived by his wife, Chris Wiesinger, of Maury City, Tennessee.
Three daughters: Charlotte Curl (Keith), Karla Thompson, and Amanda Roy, all of Bells, TN.
Seven grandchildren: Kyle Wiesinger-Thompson (Elita), Mariah Thompson-Orozco (Frank), Alex Thompson-Hughes (Matthew), Adam Curl, Hannah Curl, Jackson Roy, and Alyssa Roy.
One Great Grandson Sora John Hughes.
One brother, Ed (Maxann) Wiesinger, of Shadehill, SD.
One sister, Donna Havens, of Sioux Falls, SD.
He is also survived by a daughter by marriage Lisa Cunningham of Appelton, WI., granddaughter Ashley Reynolds, grandson Chris Trujillo (Shauna) and their children Robin, Amira and Kalista.
And finally, he is survived by his lifelong best friend, Carl Slaughter of Delaware, whose friendship remained steadfast throughout all the trials and triumphs of his life.
Celebration of life services will be held at a later date.
