

Mrs. Savage was born on May 12, 1942 in Charleston, MO to the late James Luther and Opal Mae Gibson. She was married to Donald E. Savage on May 14, 1961. She was a loving wife and mother but her devotion did not end there. She was an aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and adoptive mother to many others.
She was preceded in death by her late husband of fifty-one years, Donald Savage; a daughter, Deirdre Savage; two brothers, James and Anthony Gibson; a sister, Ruth Ann Hensley; and a great-grandson, Mason Green.
She is survived by two daughters, Eugenia Savage of Parsons, TN and Judy Wilson (Jerold) of Medon, TN; a son, Donald Savage II (Chaundra) of Jackson; two grandsons, Cody Green (Holly) of Pinson and Justin Wilson of Medon, TN; three great-grandsons, Gavin and Avery Green, and Jakob "Jake" Wilson; three brothers, Elmer (Jonell), Lloyd (Peggy), and Ronnie Gibson (Lisa); brother-in-law, Jerry (Dean) Savage of Pinson, TN; three sisters-in-law, Lavern Adams of South Fulton, TN, Judy Gibson of Illinois, and Pat Gibson of Texas; several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Savage will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 2 p.m., in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, with Interment to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Active Pallbearers to serve will be Cody Green, Justin Wilson, Jerry Savage, Kevin Agee, Dan Tusing, and Howard Knight. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Rea and Jerold Wilson.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday evening, October 2, 2014 from 5-8 p.m., in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Doris Savage was greatly loved and respected by many and will be missed. The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.
