Funeral services for Edward Glenn Yates, age 91, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19th from the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, with Rev. Douglas Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Yates passed away June 16, 2010 in Jackson, TN.
He was born in Dyer, TN on November 24, 1918 the son of the late Toy E. and Jeannie Yates. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, served in the Army during WWII, worked for Conalco for 30 years as a foreman, and enjoyed his garden and mall walking.
He is survived by a daughter, Glenda Nelson and husband Mike of Jackson, TN; a grandson, Mike Nelson and wife Christy; and three great-grandchildren, Hallie, Emma and Morgan.
Other than his parents, Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Christine Yates.
