

He was born November 9th, 1954 in Woodville, Texas to father Sam Houston Tubb, Sr. and mother Rose Forelle Tubb. He was the youngest of four children with three older brothers Sam H. Tubb, Jr., Charles Wade “Joe” Tubb, and Jon Tubb.
George attended high school at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico and received his bachelor’s degree in architecture in 1977 from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
He married Paulette Arsement Tubb on May 26, 2001and became the Dad of two adult daughters Wendy Story and Missy Bray, who all loved him so very much.
He worked as a Project Architect and was one of the presidents at H&M Company, working there for many years and doing a multitude of different projects before his retirement.
He was involved in many volunteer groups including the Jackson Center for Independent Living (JCIL) in which he helped with special events and designing a building plan for their needs. He was a member of the Chili Appreciation Society International in which he participated in many chili cook offs and won multiple awards for his amazing chili and was a member of the Jackson Corvette Club as the proud owner of a Corvette.
George is survived by his sister-in-law Rita Tubb, nieces Holli Tubb Brunsman (Greg) and Cheryl Nielsen (Peter), nephew Sam H. Tubb III (Janice); niece Tiffany Fulton (Mike), nephew Cory Tubb (Summer); cousin Gil Tubb; sister-in-law Jean Rackley Arsement, nieces Andrea Cushman (Jeff) and Brenda Rowland (Felix), nephews John Arsement (Melissa) and Steve Arsement (Megan); sister-in-law Linda Barry, nephews Michael Mason (Tamsin) and Todd Mason (Ginger); sister-in-law Patricia Myers (David) and nieces Kerri VanMeter and Stephanie Myers; as well as his two daughters Wendy Story (Jason) and Missy Bray (Jason), and grandchildren Stephen Story, Eric Story, Keira Story, and Tomlin Story; and Nathaniel Bray and Daisy Bray.
He was preceded in death by parents Sam H. Tubb, Sr. and Rose F. Tubb, brothers Sam Tubb, Jr., Charles Wade “Joe” Tubb, Joe’s son Casey Wade Tubb, and Jon Tubb, and George’s wife Paulette Arsement Tubb, as well as his brother-in-law John Glenn Arsement.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at George A. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2812 N. Highland Ave. in Jackson, TN.
