Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 28 years, Captola Johnson; step-son, Grant Collins and wife, Carolyn; stepdaughter, Thea Briley all of Jackson; sister, Geraldine Webster; brother, Clarence Johnson and wife Maureen, all of Jackson; brother, Danny Johnson (Catherine) of Florida and brother, Wayne Johnson of Arizona; adopted son, Danny Johnson of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lou Johnson and his parents, Clara and Floyd Johnson.
Sarge was a retired Staff Sgt. In the U.S. Air Force, and retired from P&G and Kroger Company. Sarge was known as a very generous and caring person. Mr. Johnson was a member of East Union Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Jim will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 5 p.m. from the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with interment to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 2:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
