

Willard Patrick, age 77 of Jackson, passed away after an extensive illness on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Mr. Patrick was born on March 26, 1933 in Madison County to the late Roy A. and Louise Bird Patrick. He was a member of Meridian Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved his family. Mr. Patrick was retired from Freed Hardeman University.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jackie Tapley Patrick; one son Jerry Barnes of Trenton; two daughters, Michelle Singleton (Darrell) and Melinda Burke (Michael) all of Jackson; 3 grandchildren, Morgan and Rachel Singleton and Maleah Burke; brothers, Charles Patrick (Jeaneice), Harold Patrick (Kaye) all of Jackson, and Larry Patrick (Barbara) of Martin; sisters, Flossie Allbert (Gene) of Jackson, Dorothy Cavender (Robert) of Maryville, TN, Betty Jean Landers (Billy), Margie Robinson (Terry), Faye Yarbrough (Jerry) all of Jackson, Linda Hanley (Jim) of Memphis, and many neices and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Patrick; a brother, Bobby Patrick; and a nephew, Ronnie Yarbrough.
Visitation for Mr. Patrick will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 5-8 pm at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel. Visitation will also be held Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 11 am until service time 12 noon at Meridian Baptist Church with Dr. Ronnie Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation on Thursday will be at 11 am until service, held at the church.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meridian Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.
