Jim graduated from Carthage High School in 1967 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business and Computer Science from Missouri Southern in 1972. He then began a long career as a computer programmer.
In 1974, he moved to Jackson, Tennessee where he founded and led the computer department for Second National Bank. Jim worked with IBM to program and install the first ATM for the bank in Jackson, marking a milestone in the city’s banking and technology history. In 1981, Jim went on to form his own business, Solution Software, where he continued his work as a programmer and consultant.
One of Jim’s favorite pastimes was fishing. He loved fishing in many lakes and rivers, and he was especially proud to hold the record catch for a time of a Largemouth Bass at Pine Lake in Lexington, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Frances Russow of Carthage, Missouri, and by his daughter, Kristin Russow Mitchell of Jackson, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Russow of Jackson, Tennessee; his daughter, Andria Russow of Jackson, Tennessee; and his brother, Robert Russow, and sister-in-law, Janet Russow of Carthage, Missouri.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their amazing care over the past year.
Honoring his wishes, the family will have a private memorial at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Jackson Animal Care Center in his name.
