Julie was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church where she attended until her health declined. She loved her church and was willing to serve in the church wherever she could.
She retired from Morrison’s Cafeteria where her customers became her friends.
She was a dedicated and loving mother to her two daughters, Jo Ann (Jim) Alexander and the late Brenda Stafford. Through her union to Richard Thomas, she gained more family: a daughter, Debbie (Randy) Lankin; three sons, Robbie (Debbie) Frazier, Richard Thomas, Jr., and Jason Thomas; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a devoted caregiver and adopted daughter, Shay Reeves. Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by sisters Georgie Knipper, Helen Veneable, and Dorothy Mayo as well as brothers Charles Knipper and James Knipper.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Ron Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to West Jackson Baptist Church mission fund.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.GeorgeASmithandSons.com for the Thomas family.
