
Kenneth Franklin "Ken" Baker, age 70, of Jackson, Tennessee passed away on June 17th at Jackson General Hospital. He was born in Bradford, Tennessee to the late Jesse and Bessie Baker.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Glenda Baker, and his sons, Kelly Baker (Sherry) of Jackson, Tennessee and Kenneth Baker, Jr. (Maureen) of Knoxville, Tennessee. Ken is survived by seven grandchildren, Adam, Martin, Timothy, Colleen, Michael, Kara, and Charles. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Galey (Herbert) of Bradford, Tennessee and Denise Knott (Ronnie) of Greenfield, Tennessee.
Ken graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1961. He was a successful businessman and owner of Baker Energy, the Texaco distributorship in Jackson, and owner of Baker Food Systems, before retiring in 2002. He was a member of and former President, in addition to other offices, for the Tennessee Oil Marketers Association.
Ken was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Al Chymia Shrine Temple and former President of the Jackson Shrine Club. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and the Moose Club.
The receiving of friends will be held between 12 PM and 2 PM on Sunday, June 20th at George A. Smith Funeral Home North Chapel. The funeral and Masonic service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 20th at the George A. Smith Funeral Home North Chapel and Highland Memorial Gardens.
The Pallbearers will be Chris Allison, Bob Bankston, Glen Barton, Sammy Britt, Steve Hamilton, Joey Martin, and Honorary Pallbearer, Murray Exum.
