Lottie G Carpenter

Mrs. Carpenter was born in Henderson County, Tennessee to the late Tom and Ellie Gurley on March 31, 1918. She was a devoted minister's wife and homemaker for 74 years. She was the loving mother of Joyce Fitch (Bob), Big Canoe, Georgia and Wanda Morris (Stephen), Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandmother of 5: Timothy Robert Fitch, Traci Leigh Davenport, Troy Curtis Watson, Mark Alan Fitch, and James Anthony "Trevor" Hartz; great grandmother of 7: Taylor Michael and Shelbie Leigh Davenport, Hunter Slade, Parker James, and Cole Ryder Watson, Connor Alan and Nancy Caroline Fitch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A. C. Carpenter in 2013, her daughter Elizabeth Grace at 3 years old in 1957, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

A. C. and Lottie celebrated their 74th anniversary on June 1, 2013 shortly before his death, and had they lived, their 75th anniversary would have been on June 1, 2014.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with services at 3:00 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 2812 North Highland Ave., Jackson, Tennessee 38305. Burial will be held at Independence Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee immediately following.
