

She was one of twelve children born in Gibson County, TN to the late John Wesley Yarbro, Sr. and Gertrude Eaten Yarbro. Margaret worked as a technician for Western Sate Mental Health Hospital in Bolivar, TN. She retired from Western State after 40+ years of service. After retirement, Margaret worked as a caregiver and sitter. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking. She was a member of Parran’s Chapel Baptist Church in Bolivar.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.H. Byrum; her daughter, Wanda Edwards; and seven siblings, Nora Joyce, Evelyn Cotner, Maxine Swaim, Irene Richardson, Dorothy Goff, Ralph Yarbro, and Johnny Yarbro, Jr.
Margaret is survived by her son, Mike Byrum (Debra); step son, Billy Byrum (Barbara); grandchildren, Jon Byrum (Tosha), James Byrum, Michelle Byrum, and Andy Goodman (Mona); fifteen great grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Lawrence, Brenda Johnson, Mildred Mathis (Bobby); and one brother, Charles Yarbro (Kathleen).
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 11 a.m. – 1p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial following in Maple Springs Cemetery.
