
Lewis was born on December 3, 1955 in Memphis, TN to Beverley Goodman Craig and the late William Thomas “Tommy” Craig, Sr.
Lewis was a graduate of South Side High School, the class of 1973. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed football, fishing, and guns. Lewis also loved cooking for his friends and family. He enjoyed music and he loved Led Zeppelin and going to concerts. He loved “antiquing” and enjoyed going to the estate sales and shops looking for a new find. Lewis also enjoyed raising and caring for his toy poodles. He had a true zest for life and loved spending time with friends and family, especially with his nieces. He was also a known jokester and prankster and loved to make someone laugh and feel appreciated.
Lewis was a member of Bible Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed church and reading his bible.
Lewis is survived by his mother, Beverley Goodman Craig; brother, Tommy “Tom” Craig, Jr.; sister, Regena Stout and brother-in-law Randy; and longtime companion, Kay Wiles. He is also survived by two nieces, Gena Simpson and Lydia Stout; and two great nieces, Randi Martin and Caylee Simpson.
The family invites everyone to a memorial gathering for Lewis that will be held on Friday evening, October 2, 2015 from 4-7 p.m., at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. This will be a time to come together, laugh, and share good memories of Lewis’ life.
