

Funeral service for Paul Richard Krone age 88 of Jackson, will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 25, 2011 at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel with Rev. Dan Camp, Rev. David Hollis and Dr. Cecil Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Rutherford Cemetery in Rutherford, TN.
Mr. Krone was born on May 31, 1922 in Paducah, KY to the late Herman Guy and Zula Ann Krone. He passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in Jackson, TN. He served in the Army during WWII for 3 years in North Africa and in Europe where he received the Bronze Service Star. He also served in the Air force reserves for many years. Mr. Krone married Connie Margaret Boucher on May 10, 1947. Before retiring in 1982, he worked for General Service Administration as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Mechanic in the Memphis and Altanta Army Depots. He served in St Stephens United Methodist Church on the Official Board, Evangelism, Stewardship, Counselor and Teacher of Methodist Youth Fellowship for 14 years. He served in Forest Park United Methodist Church in Forest Park, GA as Treasurer, President of the United Methodist Men, official board and Evangelism. In Morrow First United Methodist Church in Morrow, GA he served as member of Church Council, Stewardship and Chairman of Missions. He served First United Methodist Church in Jackson, TN on the Senior Adult Council, Stewardship, Visitation and member of Dick Nunn Sunday School Class. Until two years ago, Mr. Krone served as President and Treasurer for North Highland Ridge Association.
He is survived by his wife Connie Margaret Krone of Jackson and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Moore of Bells, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Krone is preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
Visitation will be held 5-8 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the North Chapel.
Active pallbearers to serve: Wes Clayton, Mike Bulter, Jerry Woodall, Britt Hill, Henry Harrison and John Yarbrough. Honorary bearers to serve: Paul Douglass, Paul Clayton, John Townsend, Wayne Fesmire, Cecil Kirk, Jim Holmes, Paul Eubanks and Walter Mischke.
