Roy Neal Mitchell

He was born in Haywood County, TN on October 8, 1937. He married Delinda Miller in 1956 and they had three children. Mr. Mitchell was an aircraft engine mechanic in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1961. He was employed at the Bemis Gin for over 20 years and was a charter member of South Side Optimist Club. Mr. Mitchell was Co-Owner of Stor-ur-Stuf Storage in South Jackson. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting with his many friends and family.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his ex-wife and business partner, Delinda Mitchell; his children, Mike Mitchell and wife Debra of Memphis, TN and Renee Parker and husband Joe of Pinson, TN; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his sisters, Peggy Benson and Rosa Warren and his brothers, Roger, Dan and Joe Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliford LeRoy and Flora Anna Morris Mitchell and a son Stan Mitchell.

Visitation will be held from 4 pm until 7 pm on Sunday, March 11th at the South Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 12th at George A Smith and Sons South Chapel with Pastor Bill Luther officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Mr. Mitchell was a friend to many and loved by all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Side Optimist Club or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
