

Funeral services for Ruthie Mae Puckett, age 86 of Jackson, will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel with Rev Charles Vandiver and Rev James McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest cemetery.
Mrs. Puckett was the daughter of the late Sam and Fannie Motley. She was a member of the Pinson Church of God and a retired C N A . Ruthie married to John Curtis Puckett Sr. on October 1, 1944 in Alcorn County, MS. John passed form this life on November 11, 1977 after 43 years of marriage.
She is survived by 11 children, Betty Ferguson, Carolyn (James) McKinney, Diane (Keith Western) Puckett, Teresa (Bobby) Turner, David (Cathy) Puckett, Steve (Tammy) Puckett, Sammy (Shirley) Puckett, Billy (Kay) Puckett, Jimmy (Stephanie) Puckett, John Curtis Puckett Jr. and Charles (Dora) Puckett, a sister, Louise Lee,14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Ruth Hornbsy and Ruby (her twin), a half sister, Saddie Taylor, two brothers, Vernon and Mavin Motley, and a half brother, Lonnie Taylor.
Visitation will be held 5-9 pm on Friday, September 10, 2010 at the South Chapel.
Pallbearers will be; Jackie Sikes, Louis Jordan, Chuck Stems, David Moore, Robert Ward, Keith Western and Terry Stone. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons.
The family will also have a time of fellowship at the Pinson Church of God after the internment.
