Shu passed away on March 17th 2023. Shu started the first Chinese restaurant in Jackson, The Golden Dragon and later on China Sail on Federal Dr. He was extremely passionate for his love for cooking and sharing it with his friends and customers. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his daughter Cassie and family.
Shu was preceded in death by his parents, Moon K Ray Joe and Kwan Choi.
Shu is survived by his sisters, Wai Chow Lui and Judy Hutton; his daughter, Cassie Chow; four grandchildren, Aiden Wright, Adaliyn Chow, Ayli Sun and Aisen Sun; neice, May Hu and her children, Caleb Hu, Abby Hu and Miriam Hu; and his nephew Hugo Lui and Chuck Hutton.
A visitation with friends and loved ones for Shu Fat "Michael" will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at George A. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2812 N Highland Ave, Jackson, Tennessee 38305, followed by a the funeral service at 1:30 PM. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens
