Stanley Mason Sorrell

Stan was born on December 21, 1949 in Chester County, TN, the son of the late Elree Franklin and Kathleen Staples Sorrell. Stan grew up with one older sibling, Ronnie Sorrell, and 2 younger siblings, Terry Sorrell and Karen Sorrell Buchanan in Beech Bluff, TN. In that same area, Stan met the love of his life, Cynthia Walker Sorrell. They married in 1968 and had 3 beautiful children. Stan was hard working all of his life - retiring from both Keebler Company and Kroger Food Stores. In his spare time, he loved spending it with his family, traveling and making everyone smile. Stan was a kind and dependable father - always making everyone laugh with his pranks, jokes and overall goofy personality. He could bring a smile to your face by simply being near him! He loved life and cherished everyone in his life to the utmost degree.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Harold Thomas Cross, Jr (Tommy).

He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Walker Sorrell of Beech Bluff; children, Wade Sorrell (Christy), Tonya Sorrell Neely (D.J.) and Jennifer Sorrell Cross. He also is survived by 6 loving grandchildren: Lauren Reese, David Cross, Cameron and Blaize Neely, Brett and Aiden Sorrell and 3 great grandchildren - all who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Walter German officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Chester County, TN.

Active pallbearers to serve will be David Cross, Cameron Neely, Blaize Neely, Brett Sorrell, D.J. and Tonya Neely. Honorary pallbearers include Sammy Roe, Dennis Parker, Buddy Stovall.
