

He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Carol Russell Brush; two children, Brent Thomas Brush and Katie Brush Nickey (Donnie) of Nashville; a mother-in-law, Marsha Russell of Springville, TN; brother-in-laws, Ronnie Russell (Nan) of McKenzie, TN and Chuck Russell (Margaret) of Hendersonville, TN; numerous cousins, Karen Camp (John), Randy McCadams (Judy), Daryl McCadams, Vann McCadams, all of McKenzie, TN, Billy Webb (Patricia) of Russellville, KY, Johnny McCadams (Andrea) of Jackson, TN, Ronnie McCdams (Linda) of Milan, TN, Hansel and Tansel McCadams of Paris, Pam Brush Henderson of White Haven, FL; uncle, Billy Joe McCadams of McKenzie, TN and his aunts, Betty Ann Hilliard and Marie Brush both of McKenzie, TN.
Ted lived his life to the fullest as an accomplished musician, entertainer, and a sports enthusiast. His musical career involved playing in several local bands as a drummer, singer and keyboard player. Many just knew him as “The Music Man”. In his spare time, Ted enjoyed playing golf, workouts in the gym and spending time with his buddies at the Jackson Country Club men’s grill.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Brown’s Ruritan Club. He was also a Dixie Youth Commissioner and coached North Madison County baseball and softball leagues.
Ted was actively involved with fundraisers for Dixie Youth sports program and USJ Booster Club. He enjoyed announcing baseball, softball and football games and was currently announcer at USJ Basketball games, where he proudly sang the National Anthem prior to each game. Ted loved his community and was always willing to help make it better. He received “A Hero to Shout About” award for helping rebuild the Jackson Boxing Club following the tornado destruction. He was an active Volunteer worker for the Salvation Army.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel. Family will receive friends after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the American or National Stroke Association or the Aspell Recovery Center, 331 North Highland, Jackson, TN 38301.
