Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Mr. Lay owned and operated Lay's Tech Supply. He loved the Lord and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church over 29 years where he served and taught Sunday school. His family was top priority and he had a great sense of humor.
Mr. Lay is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maxine Smith Lay; three sons, Tommy Lay of Olive Branch, MS, Bob Lay (Diane) of Jackson and Donny Lay (Debbie) of Jackson. He is also survived by brother, Alvin R. Lay; two sisters, Olivia Newman and Marie Harston all of Jackson. Mr. Lay had seven grandchildren Cory, Cheryl, Marcie, Chris, Ben, Lindsey and Lauren.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeremy Lay; two brothers, Andrew Lay and Calvin Lay.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, 731-427-5555
