Virginia "Edith" Marcom

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 3 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with burial to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens with Dr. John Bonson officiating.

Virginia Edith Hair Marcom was born November 16, 1916 in Jackson, TN to the late Harry Earle Hair, Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Long Hair. She attended Jackson City schools and graduated from Jackson High School. She met and married the love of her life, Harvey Cline Marcom, Sr. on August 28,1937. They were married 58 years. She was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother.

She leaves behind her son, Harvey Cline Marcom, Jr. and wife Mary of Germantown, TN; daughter, Libby Marcom Smith of Lexington, TN; four grandsons, Gregory Allen Marcom, Scott Andrew Marcom, Justin Marcom Smith and Nathan Oliver Smith; four great grandchildren, Griffin, Abbie, Sarah and Allison; several special nieces and nephews. She has one beloved sister, Mary Alice Atwood of Miami, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; brother, H. Earle Hair, Jr.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church of Jackson; charity of your choice ; or to make someone's Christmas brighter.
