

Mr. Warren was born on August 11, 1924 in Chesnee, SC to Joseph Wofford Warren and Lula Seay Warren. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Patricia Norris Warren, daughter Cynthia Warren Schmidt, son-in-law Gregory James Schmidt, and four grandchildren Jay William Hammond, Michael Warren Hammond, Tyler Gregory Schmidt, and Heather Nykolle Schmidt.
A proud member of the Marine Corps, Mr. Warren served in World War II and the Korean War, reaching the rank of Captain. A graduate of Clemson University, he worked as Chief Ceramic Engineer at American Olean Tile for 30+ years.
Mr. Warren was a devoted family man: a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His family remembers him for his selfless and caring nature, his endless patience and generosity, and his charming sense of humor.
Twin brother Joseph Ralph Warren, also a Marine Corps pilot, preceded Ray in death by two months. Siblings Mary Warren Swain and Joseph Wofford Warren, Jr. passed away several years ago. Daughter Linda Warren Hammond passed away in 2012.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org and the American Heart Association at heart.org
Visitation will be held at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel on Sunday, November 29th from 1:00-2:30 p.m., with a memorial ceremony to follow at 2:30 p.m.
