Alan Joseph “Al” Bruno, 77, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on November 14, 1948, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Al lived a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and deep devotion to his family and faith.
Al was a man whose steady presence brought comfort and confidence to those around him. He approached every aspect of life with humility and care—whether at home with his loved ones, in his church community, or through his work. Known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit, he never hesitated to offer support or lend a helping hand. His actions spoke volumes about the values he held dear: honesty, kindness, and service.
Al’s professional journey reflected the same dedication that marked his personal life. He began his career working in plumbing supply in his hometown of Perth Amboy, where he developed a reputation for reliability and hard work. Later, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into owning and operating a car wash in Toms River, New Jersey. Eventually, he found lasting fulfillment as a car detailer—a role that allowed him to combine meticulous craftsmanship with genuine connection. Through this work, Al built more than a business; he built enduring friendships grounded in trust and mutual respect.
At the heart of Al’s life was his beloved wife, Mary-Anne Bruno. Together they shared a rich life filled with love and companionship. They found joy in traveling together—especially visiting family across New Jersey—and delighted in exploring the state’s many restaurants. One of their favorite pastimes was visiting horse racing tracks, with Saratoga Springs holding a special place in their hearts.
Al’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He took immense pride in his daughters: Lisa Carroll (Diego), Traci-Anne Posse (CJ), and Lauren Busta (John). His love extended deeply to his grandchildren—Brandon Carroll; Luke and Zachary Posse; and Sophie, Emmy, and Addie Busta—whose lives were enriched by his presence and whose milestones brought him endless happiness.
He is also remembered with love by his siblings: Dennis Bruno (Patty), Gary Bruno (Karol), Mary Ann Lochamy, and Robert Bruno (Marina). Al was predeceased by his mother Dorothy Genaro; stepfather Sam Genaro; father James Bruno; sister Arlene Stevens; brother-in-law Bob Stevens; and brother-in-law Steve Lochamy.
Throughout his life, Al remained grounded in faith and guided by purpose. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched—not through grand gestures or accolades, but through simple acts of goodness and steadfast devotion.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire quiet acts of kindness in the world he leaves behind. A Memorial Gathering will be held on January 2, 2026, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Hardage-Giddens, 11801 San Jose Blvd. A Funeral Service will be held on January 3, 2026, at 12:30 PM at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, 1718 FL-13, St. Johns, FL.
