When he arrives he will be welcomed into the happy arms of his Grandpa and Papa. They will hold his little hands and walk him into God's arms for eternity and the time when we will get to hold him again ourselves.
Alexander was full of life and curiosity. He cried big and he played big. Possibly a future track star, he was so quick running behind his little lawnmower.
One time when he was running away from his bathtime....laughing and giggling at the thrill of being chased....Steve chasing close behind...he darted easily through a french door to the office that was open on one side. Steve's entry wasn't as smooth and didn't make it through so easily. With Alexander almost in his grasp, Steve slammed his foot against the door jam breaking his toe and the two of them fell into a laughing, screaming heap.
He was always happy and smiling. The best kid belly laugh you ever heard.
Often when he cried because he didn't get what he wanted, Jennifer would scoop him up and then stop and look at him and smile. He would try to keep the crocodile tears going but couldn't. He would start half laughing and half crying.
He was such an amazing source of joy and happiness for us all. We especially loved when strangers would comment on how adorable he was sucking on his two middle fingers.
Steve and Jennifer enjoyed watching Garrett and Alexander chase each other around the house, laughing and carrying on.
Sometimes at restaurants Alexander would let out short bursts of very loud screams punctuated by his mischievous smile. Garrett would get a huge kick out of watching Mom and Dad squirm as they futiley tried to stop Alexanders version of a good time.
As we walk through this journey of unbearable grief, guilt and pain, we want to thank our family and all of our friends who have touched us with your Love, your thoughts, and your prayers. Your outpouring of support has been overwhelming and a special source of strength to us.
He's a good boy....
