

Archie Anthony DeAngelis, 93, passed away on September 28, 2014. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandpa and great grandpa. Archie was the 4th of 5 children of Consetta Imperale and Benjamin Anthony DeAngelis of Brooklyn, NY. Archie graduated from Erasmus High School where he played football and swam on the swimming team. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp during WWII and while stationed in Waycross, GA met his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Pedrick . They married in 1944 and welcomed their son, Michael, in 1946. They moved to Jacksonville, FL where Archie became a partner and owner of Florida Distributors, Inc. in 1949. He was very active in several professional construction organizations: AGC, Producer’s Council and CSI. In 1958 they welcomed their daughter, Edna, into their family. Archie and Betty loved to square dance and we active members of the Merry Mixers. They also took up the game of golf and made wonderful friends at both University Country Club and Selva Marina Country Club where they were longtime members. He was an active member of Assumption Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael and his sister Rose. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty. His daughter Edna (Michael L. Corrigan, Jr), Grandchildren Jaime DeAngelis (Ronnie), Chelsea Corrigan, Emily Corrigan, Connor Corrigan, and Great Grandson Ryen. His sisters Marie Babbitt & Joan Campana, Brother Louis DeAngelis and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at ten o’clock in the morning Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Assumption Catholic Church located at 2431 Atlantic Blvd with interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 904-737-7171
