He leaves his wife of 23 years, Violet Ann Strickland; his three sons and their wives, Kevin (Darlene) Strickland, Chris (Amy) Strickland and Jeffrey (Christy Joy) Strickland; two sisters, Myrtie Highsmith and Clara Thornton; his brother, Milton Strickland and seven grandchildren.
Born and raised in Blackshear, GA, the son of Farley and Mamie Strickland, he raised his family and retired in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Strickland served in the U.S. Army, made his civilian living as a shipfitter and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
