Barbara Wall Buice, 93, of Jacksonville, Florida, peacefully entered her eternal rest on February 22, 2026, reuniting with her beloved husband of 66 years, James Edward “Ed” Buice, Jr. in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Born on July 18, 1932, in Shellman, Georgia, to Willie Joe Wall Sr. and Eddie Mae Avera Wall, Barbara's life was marked by unwavering faith and generous service to others. She lived her Christian values daily, finding joy in caring for her family and serving her community through her longtime membership at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church.
Barbara's compassionate heart led her to nursing, where she graduated from Crawford Long Nursing School in Atlanta with a bachelor's degree. Much of her career was spent as an operating room scrub nurse until she was later promoted to head nurse at the Federal Reserve after moving to Jacksonville.
She was a voracious reader and talented craftswoman who created intricate cross-stitch and needle-point designs; her sewing talents were also evident in the quilts and clothing she created over the years. A Jacksonville Jaguars fan from the very beginning, she and Ed were inaugural season ticket holders who loved cheering for the hometown team. She found deep satisfaction in curating collections of recipes, meaningful articles, and treasures to be shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her three loving children, Donna Adams (Gary), Tim Buice, and Jim Buice (Cathy); six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind cherished siblings Willie Joe Wall, Jr. and Eddie Avera Wall as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Ed, she was preceded in death by her loving brother Walter Robert Wall.
While her family mourns her departing, we rejoice knowing she is now in her heavenly home in the arms of Jesus.
A visitation will be held on February 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church, located at 4001 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
