Betty Jean Hill, 85, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Saturday May 19, 2018. She was born in Jacksonville, FL on February 13, 1933. She grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. She was married to Robert Earl Hill.
Betty worked for many years at the Florida National Bank until she retired. She was a member of Belfort Road Baptist Church. Betty loved to travel and go on vacations, or staying close to home and just driving around sightseeing. She also loved to go fishing. One of her favorite things to do would be to spend time in her pool floating around on her float. Being out in the sun made her happy. Betty also dearly loved her family and her great grandchildren. She raised her great grandson Hunter from the time he was 5 years old. She was very involved in his schooling and wanted more than anything to see him graduate. She was so happy that her grandson, Todd, married a lovely and beautiful woman, Shannon, and had 5 beautiful children. She loved all of his boys, but had a soft spot for Jamaica, the only girl. Betty was dearly loved by her family and she will be greatly missed.
Betty is survived by her grandchildren, Angela Denise Johnson and William Todd (Shannon) Johnson, her great grandchildren, Hunter, Andrew, Victoria, William, Jaylin, Kamry, Kyan, and Jamaica Johnson, her niece Linda Wilsey, her nephews, Bill, David, and Chris Edwards, her sister-in-law, Rose Marie Edwards, and her dogs. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Robert Earl Hill, her daughter, Marcie Johnson, her parents, Ruth and William “Bill” Edwards, and her brothers, William Edwards Jr. and Donald Ray Edwards.
