Betty Jeanne Collier Matheny

Betty Jeanne Collier Matheny, 80, long-time resident of Jacksonville, passed away on February 13th, 2012. Betty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Betty’s greatest love was her family, she was a beloved wife, devoted mother and grandmother and friend to all. She loved feeding the ducks and listening to the birds.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert J. Matheny; sons, Edward N. Collier (Diane) and Arthur J. Collier (Theresa); step-son, Randall A. Matheny (Laurie); grandchildren, Katherine Spalding, Cole Collier and Chad Matheny; great grandchildren Addison, Emily and Nathan Spalding; sister, Martha Gem Huff; special friends and adopted family, Donna and Rick Kiefer, their children, Brian Kiefer and Brittany Martens and grandson, Dylan.

She is predeceased by her first husband, James Edward Collier; grandson, Christopher Collier; and sister, Carolyn Thomas.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Thursday, February 16th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, February 17th in Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida with Rev. Robert Kinley and Rev. Janis Kinley as officiants.
