Bobby Larry Rowan, age 69, passed away peacefully on the first day of July, in the year of our lord 2023, following a stroke. He was born in Atlanta Georgia was the son of James Roy Rowan and Audrey Bell Clines who both preceded him in death.
His siblings include Jimmy Ray Rowan, Carolyn Rowan Carter, Virginia Lou Rowan Davenport who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his siblings Billy Rowan and Danny Rowan.
After completing his high school diploma, he trained and worked as a dental technician for many years. Bobby was a jack of all trades who in addition to dental work, he enjoyed and was skilled at drawing, mechanics, and building. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR every weekend, jamming out to music, playing games such as darts, billiards, and even video games. As he got older, he settled into his grumpy old man persona, however continued to be most proud of his service in the United States Navy and his beloved daughter Samantha Leigh Rowan, who he is survived by. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Memorial Hospital they took great care of him in his final days.
His life was much that of a Jimmy Buffett song “Some of its magic and some of its tragic” but he certainly lived a good life all the way.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.GreenlawnJacksonville.com for the Rowan family.
