McCormack- Burdell J. McCormack, 79, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011. Mr. McCormack was born in Jacksonville and played football from 1948 -1950 for Robert E. Lee. He was the owner of American Fencing Inc., and coached youth baseball for 19 years. He mentored many youth throughout Jacksonville. Mr. McCormack was a warm and generous man, who was loved by all. He was an avid Gator and Jaguar fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Roberta B. McCormack, children Karen West, Patrick McCormack, Steven McCormack (Stacy), grandchildren Kala and Kyle West, Tucker and Peyton McCormack, brother Wallace McCormack, sister Gloria Feathers, numerous nieces and nephews. The family will have a private celebration of his life. Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd is serving the family.
