Caleb William Cooney, a high school Senior at Creekside High School, in St John’s County Florida, died in a car accident on October 28th. Caleb was a loving son and brother who enjoyed creative writing, gaming, and outdoor activities such as biking and long boarding. Caleb took a very pragmatic look at life’s challenges and would enjoy discussions questioning normal conventions to those challenges. He also loved walking around St. Augustine where he would frequently request free hugs and he also enjoyed the special look in her eyes that only Bella, his bulldog, could have. We would consistently find Caleb taking his little brothers through ODST training where they were imaginary commandos and he was their Master Chief. He was our first player, Mario. Caleb was born on May 30th to Clayton Cooney and Samara Porter and he is survived by his parents, his stepparents Charles Porter and Kaila Cooney, his brother Jacob Cooney, his half-brothers Will and Drew Porter, his stepbrother and stepsister Austen and Ashlyn Marshall. Caleb is also survived by his Grandparents Sam and Gayle Sampadian, Juanita Cooney, Susan and Buddy Youngblood, Charles and Elizabeth Porter, Greg and Ginger Crafton, Pam Crafton and his many loving cousins. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 3rd in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
