Candace "Candy" Lou O'Neill

Candace (Candy) Lou O’Neill, RN, BSN, CCRC, 66, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018. Candy was born January 23, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Richard and Jeanne Crowe. She was an avid gymnast, cheerleader and dancer in high school. She graduated from Florida State University in 1974 with a BS in nursing where she was a member of Sigma Kappa. She moved to Jacksonville in 1986. She worked diligently as a clinical research nurse. Candy’s many hobbies included gardening, crafting and cooking but most of all she loved spending time with her family and celebrating Holidays. Survivors include her devoted husband, Darrell O’Neill; two sons, Russell Ledbetter and Stephen Ledbetter (Samantha); one step-daughter, Lara McFall (Chris); one brother, Richard Crowe (Cheryl); three grandsons: Aidan, Landon, Liam; two nieces, Cynthia Free and Christina Nix; other loving family and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 22, in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue, with Pastor Ray Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
