

Nory was born on July 28 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, where she grew up surrounded by faith, family, and a love for learning. She went on to dedicate her life as an elementary school teacher in Puerto Rico, touching the lives of countless children with patience, kindness, and wisdom. She was a loving mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and adoptive mother to many. She had a dream to publish her own book "Puerto Rico: Cuentos de Tierra Adentro" in 2024.
Over two decades ago, Nory and her beloved husband, Reinaldo Ortiz, made their home in Jacksonville, Florida. They have shared 50 years together in love and service. Their story began in a youth prayer group, and their devotion to one another was always rooted in their shared faith. Together, they faithfully served the Catholic Church throughout their marriage.
Most recently, Nory gave of her time and talents as a devoted volunteer at Christ the King Catholic Church She was a cherished member of the Pescadores Prayer Group, a joyful voice in the Spanish Mass choir, and a guiding light in the Matrimony Retreat Group, where she and Reinaldo helped countless couples embrace Christ at the center of their marriages.
Nory’s greatest joy was her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will endure for generations. She is survived by her husband, Reinaldo Ortiz, her children Rei Ortiz (Michelle), Galisse Ortiz (Lenny), and Reiyamil Ortiz; and her treasured granddaughters, Giannie and Adela, who brought her endless joy.
Nory’s presence filled every room with warmth, encouragement, and laughter. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and church community, but her spirit will live on in the love she shared and the faith she inspired.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.

A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, located at 742 Arlington Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32211, on September 29, 2025 at 10:00 am. Following the funeral, a graveside service will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old St Augustine Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32258.
