

Carson William “Bill” Eldridge passed away January 17, 2017. Bill was born on January 20, 1955 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee where he grew up and met his beloved wife, Cathy Schmitz Eldridge. Bill and Cathy met as teenagers and were married on June 7, 1980. Bill is survived by Cathy and his three adult children that he adored, Carson “Buck” Eldridge, Johnathan “Russell” Eldridge and Catherine “Lindsey” Eldridge all of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his brother, James Russell Eldridge of Chattanooga; his niece, Elizabeth Bonner; his nephew, Reid Browning; and his father-in-law, Fred Schmitz. Preceded in death are his parents, Dorothy King Eldridge and Carson William Eldridge, Sr,; his sister, Sally Eldridge Browning; and his mother-in-law, Dorothea Schmitz. Bill and Cathy settled in Jacksonville, Florida after living all over the Southeast states. Bill started working in the building materials business as a teenager with his father and was currently working for Homerite Windows and Doors. He attended the University of Tennessee and had a passion for his Volunteers. Bill loved to talk to people and was never a stranger to anyone. He enjoyed watching football, playing golf, and volunteering his time to coach a variety of youth sports. Most of all Bill devoted his time to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Bill’s life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 22 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
