Catherine Lansche Carraway

Catherine Lansche Carraway, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on August 17, 1941, in New Bern, North Carolina. Catherine lived a life filled with love, adventure, and unwavering support for those she cherished.

She built a successful career as an executive assistant at Beach Pharmaceuticals, but her true joy was found in the outdoors, whether waterskiing, spending time in nature, or cheering on her beloved South Carolina Gamecocks. She especially loved watching sports with her son, Rod, and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren, Ryan and Darby. Catherine will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the deep love she had for her family.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Chuck. She is survived by her son, Rod Carraway, his wife, Carol, and their children, Ryan and Darby. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, Beth, Ellen, Edmund, and Steve. Catherine’s legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on in all who knew her.

A Funeral Catholic Mass will be held at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church on April 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Community Hospice Center for Caring, 14550 St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32258.

Catherine’s warmth and support touched so many, and she will be deeply missed.
