Cecil David Williams Sr., age 70, was called home on June 8th, 2022. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 24th, 1951 to Thomas Franklin Williams and Sarah Frances Williams. On July 7th, 1973, he was married to the love of his life, Karen Diane Johns.
In his young adult life, David proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Later, he and Karen welcomed their two sons Cecil David Williams Jr. in 1978 and Derek Sean Williams in 1981. David led a career as a builder and the founder of Champion Homes. He also served as a deacon at Fruit Cove Baptist Church. Many of David’s most cherished memories were made hunting and fishing with his family. When he wasn’t at the hunting camp, he could be found at San Jose Golf and Country Club with his beloved wife and dearest friends. In the rare case that he wasn’t actively participating in one of the aforementioned activities, he was likely reliving every moment through his gift of storytelling.
David is predeceased by Thomas Williams, Robert Williams, and Sarah Williams. He was survived by his mother, Frances, his wife, Karen, his sons, David (Angie) and Derek (Pamela), and his six grandchildren, Alexis, Taylor, Faith, Payton, Ava and Deacon Williams, and Thomas and Jacob Bott.
The family will receive guest at Fruit Cove Baptist Church on Monday, June 13th at 1:00. The service will be held at Fruit Cove Baptist Church on Monday, June 13th, at 2:00 PM. A private burial will be hosted by the family later in the week. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking a donation be given to the Fruit Cove Prison Ministry David Williams Memorial Fund.
