Charles Julian Cunningham was born Sept 26, 1935. He was raised by his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Cunningham, who legally adopted him as a child. Joseph’s parents immigrated to the U.S. from Ireland, and Joseph was born in New Jersey. Mary came to America, having lived in County Cork, Ireland. The family was very active in Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In 1953 Charlie joined the USMC and served in Korea for two years. He was in the reserves until 1961.
During this time he married and fathered, Patricia Ann (Jerry) and Rodney Dewayne (Kari), by whom he is survived. He later met and married Patricia Dobbs Bennett. They were married 31 years until her death. He is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Cascone (Mike), Virginia Hollis; and two brothers, Paul and Joseph Williams; stepchildren, Gladys Baker, Russell Bennett (Suzy), Harley Bennett (Darlene); 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
