Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Downey and and Geraldine Withrow Downey. He is survived by his loving wife, Cassandra Kay Downey; three sons Andrew Wilson Downey, Sean Charles Downey, and Charles Wilson Downey, Jr.; granddaughter, Anberlyn Elise Downey; and one sister, Sandra Carwile (Ted).
A receiving of friends for Charles' family will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 9:15 AM until 10:00 AM at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 State Road 13, St. Johns, FL 32259. A celebration of life will follow at 10:00 AM at the church. A committal service will follow the celebration of life at 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, Lane 3, 4083 Lannie RD, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
