

Charles was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on May 1, 1922, to parents Isaac Goldberg and Molly (Kaminsky) Goldberg. He graduated from Weaver High School and then served as an MP in the US Army in France during World War II. He worked as a career truck driver and served as a volunteer to many civic and social organizations during the many years he lived in Delray Beach, Florida. He was awarded the highest level President's Volunteer Service Award, the Lifetime Achievement award, for his 17 years and 5,300 hours of volunteer service in which he was a captain of a Homeland Security citizen patrol and COPS program for the Delray Beach Police Department.
Charles is survived by his wife of 73 years, Laura (Sack); son, Kerry (Susan) and daughter, Carol Goldberg Doyle (Al Bagocius); along with five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brothers, Louis Goldberg (Marilyn) and Perry Goldberg (Linda); and sister, Sarah Katz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The River Garden Hebrew Home. Burial will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on January 18th at 2:30 p.m. and a memorial will be held at River Garden Hebrew Home on January 19th at 10 a.m.
